Drs. Michael McCally and Christine Cassel
Dr. McCally holds a BA in English Literature from Princeton University, an MD from Western Reserve University, and a PhD in Physiology from Ohio State University. Dr. McCally's most recent book is Life Support: The Environment and Human Health (MIT, 2002). He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Physicians for Social Responsibility and was treasurer of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War when it won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985. Dr. McCally is a leader in a national effort to increase physician involvement in environmental issues.
Christine K. Cassel, MD, President and CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine and ABIM Foundation, was previously Dean of the School of Medicine and Vice President for Medical Affairs at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She is a leading expert in geriatric medicine, medical ethics and quality of care.
Mike and Chris's generosity and commitment to PSR has been reflected in tremendous activism and numerous donations over the years. In addition to regular gifts to the PSR, Mike and Chris have made provisions in their estate plans to benefit PSR. Having impacted the work of PSR for decades, they hope their bequest to PSR will help ensure a better future for generations to come.
